BRITISH ROYAL IRISH DRAGOON GUARDS HELMET CA.1850

This 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards officer's helmet dates from the Crimean War period or just after. Condition is outstanding, with two small areas of repairs, one on the right side of the bell, the other on the decoration on the left side of the visor. Helmet is complete with the chin strap leather liner, as well as the canvas inner liner, all original and period. The white horse hair plume was ordered to replace the black plume immediately after the Crimean War. A remarkable, expressive piece!
